Manga Main article: Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (manga) In order to recover his memories, and collect the "Numbers" cards, Astral teams up with Yuma. Astral then explains to Yuma that he is searching for his lost memories, which have been transformed into 99 " Xyz Monster" cards called " Numbers" and have been scattered across the globe. One day, during a duel with a Reginald, a mysterious entity, Astral, appears before Yuma, and helps him to win. Following a young duelist, Yuma Tsukumo, who strives to become the Duel Monsters champion, despite being an amateur. The series is set in the near future in a city called Heartland City. A second series, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL II, began airing from Octoin a different time slot. The anime aired on TV Tokyo between Apand September 24, 2012. The " Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL" anime was directed by Satoshi Kuwahara, that scripts would be supervised by Shin Yoshida, that Masahiro Hikokubo would choreograph the duels, and that Hirotoshi Takaya would adapt the character designs for the anime.
